It has three main sections—a sidebar on the left, a navigation bar at the top and the view section. The sidebar is where you’ll have all your projects listed. T
These can include the various departments in your organization, which can contain the different projects each department handles. Wrike’s navigation bar has five main sections.
The inbox section lets you easily create new emails to communicate with your team though you’ll also be able to do this in the comment section of each task. You then have “My Work,” which, as the name suggests, is where tasks or jobs assigned to you can be viewed.
The other items Wrike’s navigation bar include Dashboards, Calendars, Reports, and Stream. We won’t get into detail about this section since a majority of them a pretty self-explanatory.
The last section is the view section, which lets you toggle between different views to see the status and progress of your projects and tasks. Wrike comes with all the popular view modes including list, board, table, and Gant Chart view plus a Workload view.
All your tasks and their related parameters such as deadlines, assignees, attachments, and more can be set from the view section. They also went a step further and included filtering options to help you find what you’re looking for in an instant and improve your productivity.
When it comes to project management, depending on the type of projects you’re handling, there are plenty of features to choose from. Some project managers prefer using the Kanban board view to manage their projects while others prefer the good old Gantt Chart view.
Project and Workflow Managment
Wrike gives you access to these view options in a dynamic and interactive way and much more. The board view, Wrike’s most recent feature upgrade, is especially useful if you’ve subscribed to their business-grade account and lets you customize the headers of your columns.
They work pretty much the same way as status columns and works pretty much the same way most Kanban board apps work. The other unique feature about Wrike is their “table” view, which gives you an insight into how much time and effort is required for a specific task/project.
Like we’ve mentioned before, Wrike also comes with a Gantt Chart view options which are interactive and easy to use. It lets you merely drag-n-drop project items as well as change their due dates and dependencies.
Changing a task’s due date with Wrike is as easy as moving the edge of a task to a specific day in the Gantt Chart view. You can also create dependencies by selecting a task and connecting it to another task, which makes the whole process a cakewalk.
You’ll be able to determine precisely how much time is required to complete a specific task or project. This is particularly useful since you’ll be able to make accurate estimations of how much time your plans will need.
Speaking of time, Wrike also comes with an inbuilt task timer, albeit it is limited to the business account. Once it’s enabled, the timer allows you to track the duration of each of our tasks though it doesn’t let you bill your clients or create invoices from the data available.
While on the subject of time, Wrike gives you a variety of options when it comes to setting deadlines for your tasks or projects. You’ll be able to assign specific due dates and set trailing due dates—due dates stretched out over a couple of days.
That said, it doesn’t allow you to set due dates using both days, and time, i.e. you won’t be able to set a specific time, e.g. 5 Pm, Thursdays using Wrike. If yours is a business that offers fast TATs, then you may have to look for a workaround like exporting the data to a 3rd party app.
The other caveat with this project management app is it doesn’t let your team members estimate how much time a project will take in both the best and worst-case situations.
So don’t expect it to automatically make due date adjustments for all tasks in the queue when a job becomes overdue.
Like in life, the best way of getting your point across is through effective communication and Wrike gives you access some of the necessary tools to do just that. It allows you to leave comments on tasks, deliverables, and even lets you add @ mentions to your tasks.

Our last two nifty little features of Wrike is that it maintains document version history as well as an Undo button to help revert back to earlier document versions in an instant.

While their Business account does let you track time spent and set the estimated time frame for each task, their ERP features take time monitoring a step further. With Wrike Resource, you’ll be able to set the hours for multiple tasks from one location.
But wait, there’s more. Wrike ERP also comes with a variety of project management features such as real-time work collaborations, reporting, and analytics.
What’s more, with their Workload chart features, you’ll be able to set priorities for each task as well as organize them. Their Workload chart gives you and your team insights into who’s available, when and the level of effort required for each task.
Wrike also lets you automatically generate reports that help businesses compare or benchmark their team’s performance against the effort required to complete the assigned tasks. And with their drag and drop features, organizing tasks is as easy as dragging them to the right place.
Who it’s for
Wrike’s main selling points include its unique work collaboration management features, but it also doubles down as a reliable project management tool. Granted it doesn’t come with all the bells and whistles of a top-tier, project management tool, but it does cut it pretty close.
